Here is how to manage your horse's profile on the EquiTrace app.

How to Find your Horse's profile in your EquiTrace App

On the EquiTrace app Home Screen you will see a button called Find Horse.

When you select the Find Horse button you will see a list of all of your horses that have been stored on your EquiTrace account.

Sort your list of horses

You can sort this list by:

Name: which will display your horse list in alphabetical order according to horse name.

Barn: which will group horses according to the barn they have been marked in. The list will be sorted alphabetically according to barn name.

Dam: which will display your horse list in alphabetical order according to dam name.

Recent: horses you have recently recorded data for will display on this list with the most recent horse first.

There is also a search bar at the top where the user can search for a horse by their name.

Share your list of horses

On this Find Horse screen in the top right hand corner there is an option to SHARE.

If you select the button you will have the option to share the horse list via direct print, SMS, email PDF, email CSV and also share via other options that are available locally on your device such as What'sApp etc.

Advanced Search

If you would like to filter your horse list further you can use the Advanced Search button.

This will display a form where you can filter through the horses on your farm as you wish.

For example: you can filter the list to display all yearlings by selecting 2023 in the year of birth box (given the current year is 2024) and select Search.

All horses that have been recorded with a birth year of 2023 will display on this list.

On this Advanced search you can also select to filter to horses that have been marked Off Property.

Off Property horses

If you wish to view or to bring a horse previously marked off property back on to your EquiTrace account, you can use Advanced Search and select the Off Property button and then select search.

The list will display all horses that have been previously marked off property on your account.

If you would like to bring them back On Property simply select the horse and the horse ID screen will appear.

There is a red Off Property banner displayed just under the horse's name and when selected it will show a pop up where you can choose to mark this horse back on property by selecting yes.


How to manually Add a Horse to your EquiTrace

Steps to manually add a horse to EquiTrace

On the EquiTrace home screen select the Other Features button.

On the Other Features screen select the Add Horse Manually button.

Here you can fill in your horses details and select Save and Continue. You have now added your horse to EquiTrace and can find them on your Find Horse list.

When setting up your EquiTrace App account it is necessary to enter each horses name and microchip number.

You can add other details about your horse such as the sire, dam, colour and gender at this initial stage but you can also edit this information in the future.

Once you fill in your desired fields select Save and Continue.


Editing Horse Details

You can edit a horses details on the EquiTrace app

On the EquiTrace app Home Screen select Find Horse.
Select, from the list, the horse you would like to edit details for.
You will then be brought to the horse's profile.
Scroll down to the bottom of the screen and select the Edit Details button.
Here, you can edit your horse's details.
You may edit the following; Microchip number, Name, Brand or Barn Name, HISA Number (if applicable), Gender, Color, Year of Birth, Sire, Dam, Breed, second microchip or third microchip. You may edit the primary microchip number if necessary.

Once you have edited the horses details, select save.


How can you delete a horse from EquiTrace?

You cannot delete a horse directly from the app in EquiTrace, you can have a horse deleted in the following ways below.

Request to have a Horse Deleted via Email

If you wish to have a horse deleted, the account owner must reach out to the EquiTrace team at [email protected]

Request to have a Horse Deleted via the App

Alternatively, if you wish to have a horse deleted, the account owner may also reach out to the EquiTrace team through the EquiTrace App by selecting the Contact Support button on the EquiTrace App Home Screen and starting a chat with the support team.

Confirmation Required to Delete a Horse

When you contact EquiTrace to Delete a Horse, please provide the name and/or microchip number of the horse you wish to delete, to the team via email or Contact Support in the App and they will delete it for you.

Can I recover my horse once deleted from my EquiTrace account?

Please note, that once a horse is deleted from your EquiTrace account, the horse and its history will be deleted permanently.


How to mark a horse as Off Property, Deceased or Sold

Off Property versus On Property Horses

Your active horse list on your EquiTrace account consists of all horses which have been added to your account. These horses are known as On Property horses.

If a horse becomes inactive you may wish to remove this horse from your active horse list. A horse may become inactive if it has been sold, moved off of your property temporarily or if the horse has died. These horses are known as Off Property horses.

If you remove a horse from your active horse list by moving it 'Off Property', you have the ability to move this horse back 'On Property' at any time and this horse and all of its previously recorded data will be restored to your account.

Removing an Inactive Horse

If you have recently sold or moved a horse from your farm, or if a horse has died you can remove this horse from your active horse list by marking this horse as 'Off Property'.
